
This weekend marks the inaugural year of the non-profit OLIO Festival in Vancouver, a 4-day long celebration of comedy, music and art across various venues within the city.
Over 100 live performers and artists are participating in over 20 shows, beginning tonight with a free event outside Gastown’s Chill Winston that will feature comedians, live painting, music and more.
Other highlights include:
Friday
Rickshaw Theatre: larry. photographs by Christina Ladwig, plus a live hanging piece from the new collection; Kris Krug photography; and Bogus Tokus the band!
Grace-Gallery: an array of short films selected by Bienvenido Cruz, plus the Shoe Show with kicks by 20 local artists (including myself!).
Saturday
Media Club: live comedy. har har.
Railway Club: Independent Music Video Festival, featuring 19 vids.
Sunday
Wrap party at Venue! What a fun weekend!
