Style Bytes was one of the few fashion & style blogs that I checked on a daily basis, but over the last month the site has been shrouded in mystery, and become a subject of much confusion. Popular Norwegian fashion blogger Agathe’s last post warned readers that she was taking a weekend trip to Stockholm with girlfriends and wouldn’t be posting, as she was staying at a questionable hostel and didn’t want to bring her laptop. Since then (nearly a month has passed), there have been no posts.

Searching on google has led me to a bunch of fashion blogs all wondering the same thing: where in the world is Agathe? The outpouring of worry is both heartwarming and astonishing – daily readers, like myself, googling her name and discovering that far from being psycho stalkers, their curiosity is matched. So out of character for a daily blogger to simply vanish – especially given Agathe’s recent success with profiles in numerous fashion magazines. It would seem that Agathe’s husband’s blog, Trashion, also recently went offline.

If something horrendous had happened, Norwegian newspapers certainly would have picked up on it. Further investigation reveals that Agathe accepted a Facebook friend request (by Jennine of The COVETED) on May 17, so she’s certainly alive and well. As Jennine notes on her site, the simplest and most rational explanation should be accepted as the reason for Agathe’s disappearance: after 3 long years of blogging almost daily, perhaps she was just sick of it?

Except a new piece of the puzzle has now been introduced: the entire site has now been taken down, with only a forbidden error message in it’s place…and again, people are asking why? The mystery continues!
