Just a few favorites from the Academy of Art show on Day 2 of New York Fashion Week. There were a few designers involved in the show and I’m not sure of their names, but I’ll do some recon and try to find out asap. Academy of Art, based in San Francisco, is one of the largest accredited private art and design schools in the U.S. with over 12,000 students – and 2,000 of those are fashion students, some of whom are chosen to show their collections at NYFW. This year the show included one menswear and five womenswear collections in fashion design, textile design and knitwear design.
I really enjoyed this show – every garment was meticulously cut, simple but stunning. These were my favorites – subtle voluminous shapes in pale wintry tones and creamy whites.
I love the cut of this coat, the collar esepcially. The subtle print adds a really unique touch to a simple and quite classic design.

Gorgeous dress – love the combination of white, cream and silver, and that detailing at the bottom. Wow.

Another wonderful wool coat in a similar silhouette. I think I’d like to get one of these for next fall. But maybe not in white – I have too much of a propensity to spill things. Like coffee and red wine.
