Before Tuesday began and it all turned to slush.
These just arrived in the mail today – finally! After walking away from these Faryl Robin Otis boots at Umeboshi to “think about it” I was very distraught when I returned and they were, of course, all gone. So after some desperate scouring online, I found the best deal at Candystore Collective boutique and these beauties arrived in about a week.
It seems like the ultra chilly weather is just now descending upon us here in Vancouver, so I’m sure I’ll get plenty of use out of these this season..

Braved the madness that is Robson Street the other night for a brief poke around. Zara has some massive sales, and while normally I would shy away from such a huge retailer the deals were too good to resist. Forget the mile long line up for the fitting room though – I scored these two pairs of shoes (total = $30) upstairs in the kids department after finding no luck on shoes down below. They also had a great leather jacket that I spied while waiting for the till, but I resisted all temptation…I’m saving my pennies for the Obakki leather bomber anyhow!
This is the first painting I’ve done in something like 4 years. My lovely mother got me an acrylic paint kit for Christmas, so Nikki and I just started up a little craft night on Tuesdays. She lent me this 6X6 canvas that I basically scribbled on for an hour until I decided to paint the chair across the room.
Turned out OK I think – practice, practice, practice!

This sounds like modern-day piracy to me…kidnapping, illegal whaling, and complete disregard for international law and human rights. Here is the message I received from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (follow the link for more news updates on this appalling situation):
Despite repeated demands by the captain of the Steve Irwin, the Japanese whaler Yushin Maru No. 2 has refused to release the two Sea Shepherd crewmembers he took hostage.
The much faster harpoon vessels have eluded pursuit from the Steve Irwin and have disappeared from the radar screens.
