
Today, October 1st!!! Larry and Dominic Designs are co-hosting an open house as part of the Fashion High Style Schedule, 17 days of fashion in Vancouver.
We’ll have wine, cheese and other goodies on hand – plus super cozy scarves made with BC alpaca wool by myself, and jewelry by the ever lovely Nikki Neves.

Deuce will likely be the most interesting show at BC Fashion Week. Jason Dussault has branched his dynamic label into many avenues, forging a successful design career with numerous celebrity partners and clients. Last year he partnered up with Gene Simmons to co-produce the Moneybags line, and he’s dressed oodles upon oodles of other famous people. He couldn’t be at the fashion show today because he got “hung up” in LA with Kid Rock, Criss Angel and Gene Simmons. Oh, the rock star life.

Nicole Bridger, winner of the inaugural BC Fashion Week Generation Next designer competition, has been powering along with her line and following up on the success of her last showing at BCFW. She’s studied under Vivienne Westwood, and was one of the lead designers who started Oqoqo, a sustainable and street-ready sister line to Lululemon.

Three finalists took part in a composite show during BC Fashion Week in a bid to become the GenerationNext Designer for Spring/Summer 2009. The winner received a prize package tailored to promote their new company: a sponsored fashion show during the next season of BCFW, financial and marketing plans, public relations services, an editorial in a leading industry magazine, a free booth at the Portobello West markets, and more.

Last night Pop Opera nightclub hosted the Jason Matlo Spring/Summer 2009 show as part of BC Fashion Week in Vancouver. Models strutted down a red carpet runway which sliced through the dance floor, then snaked their way through the VIP section to pose for the media and Matlo’s couture clients. The room was packed and energetic music maintained the buzz throughout the show.
