Dace Online Sale

dace clothing is a major staple in my wardrobe, so I am especially happy announce their massive online sale! all items are running 50-75% off until December 4.

No need for coupon codes, all prices have been updated on the site to reflect the sale. I swung by their studio today and nabbed the shirley tunic (pictured above), and would have gotten the mary top and misty coat if I could afford it. I think I heard something recently about an economic recession? I don’t have any botched investments, but I do gots bills to pay.

At any rate, these deals are major and it’s getting nippy here in Vancouver, so you may want to take advantage and buy yourself that new woolly winter jacket. You need it, right?

Gastown Christmas Shop Hop 2008

The shop hop is back!  Some of the best retailers in Gastown are keeping their doors open late this Thursday, November 27th and offering special pre-Christmas discounts for one night only.  Use the map to plot your course, and flit about from shop to shop like you’re on a little treasure hunt.  Most places should have a nice glass of wine or other complimentary beverage for you to enjoy upon arrival, and Rogers Chocolates will be offering up some free chocolate tasters as well.

One of a Few, Two of a Few, Roden Grey, Bruce Eyewear, John Fluevog, Illustrated Example, Rogers Chocolates, Hunt & Gather, Urbanity, (212), Dream, the Block, Nouvelle Nouvelle, Mandula, Obakki, White Rabbitt, Mooncruise Gallery, Rubi + Rino, Ric Yuenn and Dutil will all be open from 5-10 PM with extra special discounts for their extra special shop hoppers.

Wear your warm cozies and a comfy pair of shoes!  This event has been a smash success in recent seasons and will surely be busy again this year.  I’d recommend a whiskey flask in your pocket to keep you nice and toasty from the inside out, but that’s just me.

Vancouver Eastside Culture Crawl: Larry, Dominic, Rainforest Designs

Sorry for the late posting kids, but I’m doing the Eastside Culture Crawl this weekend and y’all have to come by.  We have plenty of cheese to last us through the weekend, fruit, beverages, plus knits by larry., jewelry by Dominic, and furniture by Rainforest.  Ignore the rain and come visit us.

I’ll also be twittering throughout the weekend, so you can catch up on all the (in)significant happenings by following me.

We’re at 321 Railway just east of Gastown (1 block east of Main near Alexander St), come on up to the second floor and studio #204.  We’re here all day Saturday and Sunday, so no excuses.

Hope to see you crawling about this weekend!

(212) SS09 Preview Fashion Show

All photos by superman Kris Krug

The (212) spring/summer 2009 preview show was held at Heritage Hall on Tuesday, November 4th to a select industry crowd who whet their whistles with Russell Beers, Yellow Tail Wines and Voss Waters until the much-anticipated show began.  Designer Anthony Castro and store partner Scott Walhovd presented a well-received collection:

tonal star butterfly sleeve top; pleated trouser pant; ultra suede scrunch belt

The designs remained casual but as a whole seemed to have graduated since previous seasons – I think it could be the colour palette they opted for, which was very warm and subdued compared to some prior collections.  This muted colour was a major factor towards my feeling that the line had matured (however I did love one pretty flowery print they used), and the fabrics resonated this carefree quality that conjured up the kind of beautiful summer day where you can jump effortlessly from doing nothing to everything in an instant.

Christmas Deadline: Order Your Larry.

Fiona Garden Photography

I will be slammed in the coming weeks with Christmas markets and the like, selling the larry. stuff, so in the best interest of everyone who has expressed an interest in buying pieces as gifts I am setting the Christmas order deadline at November 30, 2008.  It is doubtful that I will be able to accommodate any orders after this point, as I only have two little hands and do all the knitting myself!

Please contact me at terri[at]wearelarry[dot]com for order inquiries.
