Sunday Photo Shoot

Shallom from Stylefinds, Victoria of demiCouture and I had initially planned to go to the glass bottle house today and stage a little photo shoot, so when plans fell through Shallom and I took to my backyard and when we discovered some magical beams of light playing against the concrete wall, we rallied up some outfits and got shooting straight away.  Here’s a sampling of the outcome of our Sunday playdate:

Vancouver’s Epic Fashion Blogger Clothing Sale is ON

We did it once a few months ago to wild reviews, satiating the thrifty and sartorial desires of our loyal readers and friends, and now we’re doing it again even bigger and badder.

July 25th at the Grace Gallery on Main & 3rd in Vancouver, mark your calendars and tell your friends because it will likely be another few months before this epic sale happens again.

Stay tuned for photos over the next week of my personal stash, a sneak peek at just a sliver of what will be available at the sale for dirt cheap prices.

Style Quotient

I was cruising through Gastown yesterday and was politely stopped by Paul Melo, one of two partners who recently started a street style blog in Vancouver by the name of Style Quotient.  You’re probably familiar with the other half of this equation, Sunny Shum, who brings us Partly Sunny.

Obakki jacket, American Apparel tee, pants from F as in Frank, Farylrobin Boots, Larry scarf, vintage bag and glasses.

Keep your eye on Style Quotient for more from the streets of Vancouver!

dace Online Summer Sale

dace clothing is having a splendid online sale that just began last week – I swooped in there and bought myself a dress to wear to the YouthCO charity event last Thursday, pictured here having a laugh with my fabulous friend Kim Cathers:

There are so many other dace pieces I’m coveting right now – such as the Thiel Blazer, Penner Dress and Tetangco Shorts:

Use coupon code SPRING to receive a 20% discount at the online store checkout.  Enjoy!

Wear Else Summer Sale

To be honest, I’ve always walked by Wear Else and thought it was a place my mom would like to shop.  It wasn’t until I attended their in-house fashion show a few months back that I realized the retailer carries some pretty stellar brands – think Frye, Elie Tahari, William Rast, Paige, etc. Quelle surprise.

The range of style definitely spans a generation, which is pretty cool if you like shopping with your mom as much as I do.  You and the ma could both easily leave with a bag full of goodies – and if you go now, you’ll get that bag of goodies at a pretty steep discount.

Sale begins today and runs to July 31, so get shopping!  I need me some William Rast…

Tonight: YouthCO Presents Acquired Taste, a Carnival of the Senses

Tonight the YouthCO AIDS Society, now celebrating their 15th year, is holding a charity event at CANVAS Lounge in Gastown that will celebrate all things circus related.  Burlesque, contortionists and circus folk, what more could you ask for in a party?

I donated a larry. piece to the silent auction, proceeds of which will go towards prevention education and youth impacted by HIV/AIDS.  Looking forward to seeing what’s in the silent auction, I hear there are some choice items to be bid on.

If you’ve got $50 to spare, you should definitely come down tonight – it’s for a great cause, and this certainly won’t be a stuffy charity event.  I will have 3 of my loveliest ladies on my arm – Shallom Johnson, kdon, and The Conveyor Belt’s newest contributor Jenn Wint – so it’s sure to be a party.
