All great shops with solid brands – I will update the post later with a note on what the prices are like and let you know if they are, indeed, holy @$&# prices. I am in dire need of some new blush so will be popping by today to check out what Kiss and Makeup has to offer, at least.
Amazing designers, fantastic ‘end of season’ deals even though it doesn’t much feel like the end of winter here in Vancouver yet. Nice array of clothing designers, jewelry, and accessories (including big warm scarves!). I am a bit obsessed with this kdon ‘Sheer Knight‘ blouse, of which there are only a few left so I’m snagging one early.
larry. will be taking part in this great sale happening next week – some of my favourite Vancouver designers all in one room, with discount prices. Definitely a must-attend event…last year it was a “one for you, one for me” gift shopping scenario, but I’m ok with that.
dace is running yet another of their fantastic giveaway contests, and this time around you can win a free larry. shawl. Simply comment on dace’s contest page as to what keeps you warm and you’ll be entered to win the Chinook Winds shawl, hand knit by moi.
Two local designers will be setting up temporary shop in Gastown soon… Mono is launching the Monoshop: Provisional on August 5th, while lily & jae is shacking up in One of a Few beginning August 26.
monoshop: provisional
Mono’s on the right track with the notion to take the pop-up shop concept on the road, with plans to travel to Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, and eventually Europe, selling the latest collections and projects by designer Heather Martin.
lily & jae pop-up shop in one of a few
lily & jae will be sharing space with One of a Few starting late August and kicking things off with a fantastic launch event – not only will you find lily + jae items in this shop, but also vintage pieces hand picked by designer Judith Feller.
I was guiding a friend through my closet this morning as she prepared to dress up for a stagette this evening, when she remarked that I had “a lot” of dace in my closet. Yes, yes I do indeed. One of my favourite lines ever, and they’re based in Vancouver which means I get to harass them in person at their studio when I’m itching to shop!

I love the new collection – the best equestrian man trousers a girl could ask for, and perfect sweaters & cardigans that are stylish enough for the city but rugged and subtle enough for the country. I’m also especially fond of the Terri Blouse:
