5 local designers will be at the Velvet Room Boutique in Kerrisdale tonight to showcase some of their latest creations. Enjoy wine, music and 100% Canadian fashion while taking advantage of this unique opportunity to interact with the designers, pick their brains, and even give feedback on some of their designs.
Lincoln from fiveleft leather will have his latest city tote in tow (I absolutely LOVE this bag – it’s pretty much perfect in every way) and also another concept piece which he’d like some feedback on. Naomi Evans, Coral Moon Designs, Christina Lazar-Schuler, and Street Cat Designs are the other 4 artists that will be featured.
Fab Clothing started out 7 years ago when they opened up their premium denim store on W. 4th in Kitsilano, and it didn’t take long to earn recognition as one of the top retailers in Vancouver for the hottest jeans in town. In fact, they stock dozens and dozens of brands to ensure that if you want it, they got it. With the November launch of their second location, this one snugly settled in the heart of Kerrisdale, owners Yoel and Anne Farzan now have even more square footage to carry their extensive collection of denim from all over the world. Yoel wanted the new flagship to have a New York or Los Angeles inspired quality to it, so he went on an exploratory trip to LA with designer Ruth Jankelowitz, of Janks Designs, where they scoped out various stores and developed the Fab store concept from there.

Deborah Richardson and Jessica Elliott are one of those mother-daughter teams that seem able to accomplish just about anything, and with the recent opening of the Velvet Room Boutique in the heart of Kerrisdale it’s clear they have put their respective skills to excellent use in creating a beautiful shopping destination with wide appeal.
Decorated in French provincial style with clean black and white tiled floors and feminine accents of purple and pink, the Velvet Room caters to a wide spectrum of shoppers ranging from – you guessed it – mothers to their daughters, and everyone in between.
